Overview & History

Mechanical engineering is a broad field that involves the design and production of machines, engines and other mechanical systems. It encompasses many areas of research, including the development of new materials, the study of energy conversion, the optimisation of manufacturing processes, and the analysis and control of fluid flow.

Mechanical engineering is a highly diversified field with a wide range of applications, from industrial and automotive to aerospace and medical. Mechanical engineers use the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacture, and maintenance of mechanical systems. They work in a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, biomedical, energy, manufacturing, and robotics.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Invertis University provides research, teaching and learning opportunities to students in the areas of mechanical engineering design, energy and materials science, manufacturing, and sustainable and intelligent systems. It offers its students a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral programmes and strives to provide them with the necessary tools and skills to become successful engineers and leaders in the field.

Overview & Identity Of Invertis University

The Department has a world-class infrastructure that includes high-tech student labs, machine shops, cutting-edge design studios, student workshops and state-of-the-art research labs. Our highly-qualified faculty works to advance knowledge in the multitude of areas in mechanical engineering and apply it to the solution of real-world problems. Our research and educational programmes focus on the development of advanced technologies and systems that are economical, reliable, and environmentally friendly.

Achievements

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Invertis University has achieved great success in both academia and industry. Here are some of our major accomplishments:

Rs. 9850000 Grant received from European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme for the project Development of green cement-based fire-retardant composite and their performance evaluation in pre-and post-fire conditions using conventional and non-destructive methods.

Rs. 52,67,806 Grant received from Department of Science and Technology for Development of a simple and cost-effective waste plastic recycling device based on novel COH-RC method and strategies for optimum end-use of residual products.

An Australian patent published Closed container heating and exhaust condensation (CCH-EC) method for converting waste plastics in to useful products. Australian Patent, Application in process (application no. 2021105261), 2021.

Message from HOD

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established with the aim of laying a strong foundation and producing skilled human resources in Mechanical Engineering for the Heavy Engineering and Manufacturing Industries. The Department is presently offering a Diploma, B. Tech, M. Tech, (with specializations in Production and Thermal Engineering), and Ph.D. programmes in Mechanical Engineering.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the leading departments in terms of research and development with a dedicated team of research-oriented faculty members from top institutions like IITs and NITs. One of our faculty members has even been awarded the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship. The department has a number of research projects being funded by DST (Govt. of India), the European Union (EU), etc. With the collaboration of some of the topmost international universities and access to modern laboratories, the students of mechanical engineering get the best exposure and guidance in the modern-day scenario.

The Department has set up north India’s first Fire Testing Laboratory. Recently, one of our faculty members has been featured in the world’s Top 2% Scientist list released by Stanford University. Students of the department are not only working in the world’s top MNCs such as TATA Group, M&M Group, Ashok Leyland, etc., and government organisations but are also entrepreneurs in their own right.

The department has well-equipped laboratories, computational facilities (including computer systems installed with the latest drawing, designing, manufacturing, and simulation software), modern classrooms, and a favourable learning atmosphere.

I welcome the students to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Invertis University, Bareilly for an outstanding learning experience.
