ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Mathematics has long been recognised as one of the most important disciplines in business, industry, and the sciences. Advanced mathematics education and research enable businesses and industries to better understand problems and solve them with mathematical rigour and accuracy.

A doctoral degree in mathematics provides students with an in-depth understanding of advanced mathematical principles and concepts as well as the necessary research, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to work in a specialized area of their choice.

Ph.D. in Mathematics programme offered by the Department of Applied Science & Humanities is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to become mathematics innovators and leaders of the future. The rigorous coursework includes topics such as linear algebra, differential geometry and mathematical modelling, as well as real & complex analyses, metric spaces, and differential equations. The programme concludes in the completion of a dissertation.

Pursuing a doctorate in Mathematics can be highly advantageous for those with a passion for the discipline. This extensive level of training offers great benefits to the learner, as well as the global economy due to the extensive range of industries and applications that their newfound expertise and skill set can be applied to. Furthermore, securing a job afterwards and consequently a better salary are more likely than ever before, due to the increased level of technical proficiency and expertise one can demonstrate.
