The Department of B.Com, Faculty of Management, Invertis University, Bareilly, organized an insightful Expert Talk on
“Budget 2025: Overall Tax Policy & Its Implications for the Economy” on February 6, 2025. The session was
specifically arranged for the students of B.Com (H) (2nd & 3rd Year) and featured the esteemed Chartered Accountant
of Bareilly, CA Shivam Gupta, as the guest speaker.
The session began with CA Shivam Gupta explaining the fundamental concept and significance of the Budget. He
elaborated on key financial concepts, such as Direct and Indirect Taxes, Capital and Revenue Expenditures, offering
the students a comprehensive understanding of these critical terms.
During the talk, CA Gupta highlighted significant statistics from the Union Budget 2025, including budgeted and
actual figures for fiscal deficit, tax collection trends, and capital and revenue receipts. He provided an overview
of fund allocations to various government schemes and ministries and emphasized the relief measures introduced in
the new income tax structure for the middle class.
The session was highly engaging and informative, fostering curiosity among students and encouraging discussions on
the economic implications of the budget.
