ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

B.Tech. Biotechnology is a four-year undergraduate degree program that blends principles of biology, chemistry, and engineering to study the application of living organisms and their systems in various fields. Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that has a significant impact on various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, food and beverage, and environmental management. The B.Tech. Biotechnology course curriculum includes a range of topics that provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the subject, including Cell biology and genetics, Molecular biology and biochemistry, Microbiology and immunology, Bioinformatics and biostatistics, Bioprocess engineering and fermentation technology, Bioreactor design and scale-up, Downstream processing and purification.

The courses taught at the biotechnology colleges in India include laboratory work, project work, and industrial training to provide students with hands-on experience and practical skills in biotechnology. After completing the B.Tech. Biotechnology course, graduates can pursue a range of career opportunities in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, agriculture, food and beverage, and environmental management. Eligibility Criteria

50% (45% for SC/ST) Marks in 10+2 with Physics & Chemistry along with Mathematics , Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science.
