Report of Guest lecture
Department of Applied Science and Humanities (Faculty of Science) organized a guest
lecture on the topic of – “Untold story of nano carbon” on 23/11/2021at 10:00 am to 12:00
pm in virtual classroom. Professor Sabyasachi Sarkar (Former Professor and HeadOF THE
Department Kanpur IIT and Currently honorary professor Indian Institute of Engineering
Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, West Bengal) was the respected speaker for the
above mentioned topic.
After brief introduction in the presence of Dean (Prof. P.P Singh) and HOD (Dr.
Kamlesh K Dubey) we started the session. Professor Sabyasachi Sarkar shared his experiences
with us during lecture and explained the source of nano carbons from easily available raw
material and its application for various purposes including drug delivery. In this way students
are introduced to the fascinating field of nanocarbon. The Programme was attended by Dr.
Rakhi Majumdar, Dr. Kuldeep Chauhan, Dr. Nisha Mehra, Dr. Krishna Ji, Dr. Lalit Kumar,
Dr. D. Arumugam, Dr. Ashuthosh Pradhan, and 37 students of class B.Sc (H) first year, B.Sc (PCM)1st year 39
students, B.Sc (PCM) 2nd year 14 students, B.Sc (PCM) 3nd year 15students, B.Sc(H) Chemistry 3rd year 5 students,
B.Sc(H)2nd year Chemistry 2nd year 27, M.Sc(Chemistry) 1st yeara 7 students, M.Sc (Physics) 1st Sem, M.Sc (Physics)
