Invertis University 1st Virtual Moot Court Competition
The Faculty of Law organized an inter semester 1st virtual moot court competitions on 26th and 27th May. The competition witnessed enthusiastic response from the students of the department. There were in total 10 teams and the preliminary rounds were conducted in 26th May and there was around 1 hr. taken in each round to complete.
The Semifinals and Finals were organized on 27th May, 2021. The semifinals had 6 teams out of which two went for the finals and one team secured the 3rd position. The semifinal round extended to around 2 Hrs. per round where the participants argued making use of the facts and the law. The judges were overawed by the amount of research that the participants had come up with.
Interestingly it was the 5th yr. B.A.LL.B teams i.e., the senior most batch that went to the finals. The team comprised of Ms. Anushree Dubey, Mr. Atif, Mr. Naman & Ms. Alaika on one side and Mr. Qazi, Ms. Adeeba, Mr. Naqi and Ms. Nandini on the other side.
There were 6 judges in the final rounds and the arguments went on for more than 3 Hrs. The final was telecasted live at the Department of Law FB Page and the participants along with their unflinching arguments made the competition a huge success.
The dedication of the finalist can be seen from the fact that the semifinals ended around 2.45 PM on 27th May which culminated into around 2 Hrs. of continuous arguments and the participants were ready to fight it again in front of the court of law for the finals, which again went for more the 3 Hrs.
The Judges and the audience alike were in awe with the presentation of arguments by the speakers from both the teams. But, since it is a competition so it was Ms. Anushree Dubey, Mr. Atif, Mr. Naman & Ms. Alaika that became the winners of the 1st Invertis University Virtual Moot Court Competition.
