The B.Com Department (Faculty of Management), Invertis University, Bareilly, organized an insightful Alumni Talk on "Career Avenues in the Insurance Sector" on 27th February 2025. The session aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of career opportunities in the insurance industry, skill requirements, and future prospects.
The guest speaker for the event was Ms. Rati Agarwal, an esteemed alumna of B.Com (H) Batch 2015-18, currently working as a Development Officer at Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). She shared her professional journey, shedding light on how the insurance sector offers dynamic career options in sales, underwriting, claims management, and risk assessment.
During the session, she emphasized the importance of financial awareness, analytical skills, and communication abilities in excelling within the insurance domain. She also provided students with practical insights on securing jobs in the sector, preparing for competitive exams, and building a successful career trajectory in LIC and other financial institutions.
The interactive talk saw enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged in discussions about job roles, industry growth, and professional certifications required for a promising career in insurance. Ms. Rati also addressed students' queries and encouraged them to explore various roles beyond traditional banking and finance.
The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. YDS Arya (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Manish Gupta (Dean Management), and Dr. Dheeraj Gandhi (Head of Department, B.Com), ensuring that students benefited most from the session.
